Since Poetic Modernity is characterized both by the individuation of form which was theorized by Symbolism and by the redefinition of the Subject’s status, two opposing views stem from it. The first one postulates an assertion of the Subject in the Poetic process, the other one asserts the disappearance of the Subject. Yet Reverdy’s Poetry and his Poetics would allow us to carry out the synthesis of these two views, at the end of an examination that entails the mobilization of a certain number of theoretical and philosophical foundations (Bergson, Fiser, Blanchot, Foucault).
